Breast augmentation is often performed to enhance breast appearance, with silicone implants being one of the most common procedures. Silicone is flexible and non-fragmenting, and even in the unlikely event of a rupture, the gel, serum, and synthetic materials it comprises are harmless and naturally broken down by the body. Advances in radiological imaging have shown that women with silicone implants do not encounter issues during breast examinations. The silicone used in breast surgeries does not cause breast cancer, nor does it interfere with the diagnosis of potential breast cancer.
