BREAST LIFT SURGERY.
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is a cosmetic procedure designed to lift and reshape sagging breasts to achieve an ideal form. This surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery can range from 1 to 4 hours, depending on the extent of sagging and tissue damage. Breast lift and augmentation procedures can be performed simultaneously, especially if there is significant loss of volume in the breast, in which case silicone implants may be added.
Breast sagging can occur due to genetic, environmental, and structural factors. The breast tissue and skin can change over time.
The post-operative period involves wearing a special support bra and protecting the scars from sun exposure to aid healing. Risks of the procedure include bleeding, infection, wound dehiscence, and loss of tissue in the nipple area. The healing process of the scars and their permanence depend on the individual’s wound healing characteristics.
