Buccal fat removal, also known as bichectomy, is a surgical procedure that involves removing fat from the cheeks to give the face more defined contours. The goal of a bichectomy is to achieve a facial shape known as the “youthful triangle,” where the face appears like an inverted triangle with prominent cheekbones and a narrower chin. This procedure helps improve disproportionate facial features and sharpens the facial contours, aiming to achieve the golden ratio for a more aesthetic, attractive, and youthful appearance, similar to facelift procedures.

Bichectomy is a popular choice for individuals seeking a V-shaped face, particularly those with square or U-shaped faces. Commonly referred to as cheek thinning surgery, bichectomy involves reducing the fat tissue in the cheeks using aesthetic surgical techniques. The procedure involves making a small incision, approximately 1 cm, inside the cheek, and typically takes about half an hour. Since the intervention is performed from the inside of the cheek, there are no visible scars on the skin surface.
